Armed police descended on Linslade last night after a man was shot in the leg with a pellet gun.

A Beds Police spokesman said: "We were called at around 9pm yesterday evening (Wednesday) to a report that a man had been shot in St Mary’s Way, Linslade.

"Police, including an armed unit attended the scene, and discovered a man had been struck in the leg by a pellet gun, which caused a small welt.

"This was following an altercation earlier in the day with another man, and enquiries are ongoing."
